Charlie now runs the family farm that his father purchased in 1959. He attended Westfield State college and received a BA Criminal Justice. Upon graduation he joined the Sunderland Police Department. After a few years on the force he accepted the position of chief of police. In 1990 he left the department to manage the family farm.

 

 

 

 

Karen worked as a nurse in the trauma units for several years. When the farm stand was built she took a second shift position at Northfield Mount Hermon School in the infirmary. She took the job at the school to have summers off so she could run the farm stand. She quit nursing in 2000 to run the farm stand and creamy full time.

 

 

 

Lisa Burg has worked at the farm stand for the last five years. She currently is a junior at the University of Massachusetts. She is majoring in Hospitality and Tourism Management. She loves working at the Smiarowski farm which gives her great experience for her career path.

 

 

 

 

 

Marie Wheeler has worked the last three summers at the farm stand. She will be a freshman at Westfield State College in the fall. Marie loves playing volleyball and serving our loyal customers.

 

 

 

 

 

Richard Wheeler has worked the last two summers at the farm stand. He is a junior at Springfield Technical College in Springfield. He is majoring in Computer Systems Engineering.
